Judy DeKuehn, M.Ed., LPC, NCC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a graduate of the University of North Texas, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology and my Master’s degree in Counseling.

I am dedicated to my own continuing personal and spiritual growth and I am committed to assisting people in living fully and freely in deeper relationships to God, others and themselves.

I have two grown children and a husband of 28 years. When not working with clients, I enjoy gardening, reading, yoga and music of all kinds. I love meeting new people and encouraging those around me.

My Beliefs

Because stress and anxiety are widespread in our culture, I believe that effective counseling must address the issue of learning to relax and deal with stressors from a more realistic perspective. As a component of my stress reduction education, I will sometimes enlist the help of my “tiny therapist”, Bella, a seven pound Chihuahua to give puppy hugs. Research supports the fact that animal therapy is an effective stress reduction technique.

Each client presents with unique challenges and travels through healing at different times in various ways. I strive to honor this process by listening carefully, seeking to find what works best for each client and creating the most effective treatment program possible for each individual.
